MotherShip:
2022, Vancouver Film School
MotherShip is a stealth action game built by myself and 3 other VFS students over the course of 5 months. For this project I took on the role of level designer, programmer and tech artist. This proved a challenge as beforehand I had no experience coding or using visual scripting. Balancing both responsibilities was difficult at first but as I got familiar with the workflow it got easier and easier.
This was the largest level I made at the time. The player character has the ability to climb walls adding a whole new level of verticality.

For MotherShip I took on the role of Level Designer and Programmer.
This was my first experience programming which proved quite challenging. The main character of MotherShip has the ability to climb walls and perform takedowns on enemies. I ran into plenty of problems when it came to transitioning the player onto and off of walls.
Balancing a level around a player character that could climb walls also proved to be challenging to keep the player interested but not too limiting or boring. I ran into many problems with the layout of the ship trying to make it all seem somewhat believable as an alien ship and still being easy to understand and interesting.
